consulate regional jurisdiction for F1

Hello,

I have applied for F1 visa at the Kolkata consulate. I have been a resident of Kharagpur for the past four years during my college and after passing out last month have come to visit my dad here in Raipur for a month after which part of my family would finally go back to settle in our permanent residence in Kolkata. Now, Raipur comes under the Mumbai consulate jurisdiction and I gave this Raipur address as the current address in DS 156. Does that mean I should have applied for visa at the mumbai consulate ?? Can I change the address in DS-156 now?? What is the way out ??

That could be complicated, I suggest you attend the interview at Kolkatta. If required they will send you to Mumbai. Changes may be done to DS-156 later but changing address seems a problem to me.
