Hi all,
I was wondering if someone would give some information to a few of my questions regarding my wife's F2 visa that she will be applying for pretty soon.
Here is my background.
1. I am an RA and my I20 shows $38200 as available funds including my annual income. My salary itself comes to $29000 and then in addition to this there are tuition fees and personal funds that make up that amount.
2. The required funds for expenses are $30000 plus change.
3. My bank accounts have a total balance of about $11000.
a. US banks $7000
b. Indian banks $4000. (I transferred then recently to earn more interest and never thought they would mean a lot to the Visa officer if they were in US banks.) I split this amount in 2 parts and kept them with two different banks. To make it even worse, both these accounts are joint accounts, but the money is mine.
c. Wife's personal funds $5000
d. Immovable property not in my name. Parents own it.
4. My wife wants to retain her maiden name after marriage.
5. My wife has been working in a software company, Infosys, for the last 2.5 years.
So here are my questions.
1. Do my funds sound enough?
2. Do I need to prove that the money in the Indian banks is mine?
3. Does the money in the Indian banks even make a difference to the VO?
4. Will my wife's funds even be considered at the interview by the VO?
5. For showing strong ties to India, I do not own a house or anything in India, but my father does. Will showing the documents for that help?
6. Will my wife's retention of her maiden name make any difference?
7. Can the VO say to my wife that she is going to the US for a job as she worked in a software company?
8. Finally does my wife stand a realistic chance of getting an F@ Visa?
Wow, that's a lot of questions. I would really appreciate if someone could answer these.
