F1 Denail Still havent received an offical letter

I am on b1/b2 which has already been expried but still living in US as i have applied for COS to F1.I called the uscis about my status and the lady said that your petition has been rejected.I am still living in US till i get an denial letter from uscis.but it has been almost a month i called and still havent got the official letter.Should I just leave back home or wait for the letter?How long does it take to depatched a letter.Is it legal to live in US now?

You have been accumulating illegal presence since the date of your I-94 expiration and an overstay past 180 days could give you a 3-10 year ban. Your B1/B2 visa is now void.

How did you came to know about denial when you still haven t received letter.

The OP called the USCIS helpline and the cusomer sevice agent provided the result update.

i tried calling uscis but the customer service says they dont have more details than what is on internet.Is there any other number
