F1 Visa - US Consulate in Paris,France (URGENT)

Hi all

I attended a F1 Visa interview in US Consulate in Paris on the 25th of June and everything went smooth (interview officer didn't ask for any paper at all) until he told "Great, we'll take your passport for now for some administrative processing. That might take 1week to 1 week and a half".
I didn't get any paper such as 221g or any similar. Well, I left the consulate with no I-20, and no passport.
I guess it's okay for my passport, but keeping my I-20 was a little weird to see happen. I read in this forum that this can actually happen, so no worries at this point.

The bad news as you might have noticed is that several weeks passed... And I'm still without any news, this is frustrating, really... I understand the AP thing and all but I am asked to be at my new university (maybe never, huh? lol) by the 15th of August. Today is August 1st.

Anyone of you have experienced such bad luck? I called once, but the lady didn't seem to be helping in any way.

I try not thinking about this issue, but now that 15 days are left, I just can't resist!

Try to get in touch with them asking about the status of your application and AP mentioning tht the school starts 15AUG. Its back to school time!

I am also with the same case here! 15 more days left and didnt hear anything back from them yet... Had my interview at Hyderabad US consulate... 4 weeks passed now... !!! Its badlyyy frustrating!!!! I can understand you completely now! how many passed with your case?

If some of you in the forum had been once in the same situation or heard of similar (university starting in a matter of days or 1-2weeks and haven't had your visa printed, tell us what happened).

We'll appreciate it.

I called them again today! Same reply 'You will have to wait!'... Now I dont even have 1 week left with me to report at the school...!!! Only God knows!!!

They are not required to speed up processing due to an upcoming start date of school.

Just ensure that you are in touch with your school ISO and inform them of the situation and (if needed-hope not) to defer the admission to next semester.

You should have planned and attended the visa a bit earlier to allow for the admin processing.

I called today and same story again "wait". She gave me a fax number but when I asked what for, she just said "thank you sir, bye"... Classic I'd say

I'll fax a paper with my passport number and reporting date etc and see what happens...

I would have planned and attended earlier if I had my I-20 earlier.

I scheduled a visa date on the very next available emergency slot after receiving my I-20!

I contacted the school also and mentioned my case... But I dont think that's going to do any help!!

Hey! I got it stamped last day...

I called the consulate on 7th and they told me that its sent to vfs on 5th itelf. Then after a long trial I traced it out that my passport is stuck at blue dart office in Hyderabad. I informed vfs ofce that I will be coming directly to collect it and received it last day 10th Aug. It was stampd in the visa that I cleared it on 1st of Aug and they issued it on 4th of Aug it seems. So altogether from 7th July to 1st Aug..

You will get it on time for sure touya. Keep in touch with the consulate every other day and be prepared for your travel. They will provide it at the eleventh hour!!! Recently I heard someone else also saying the same. All the very best to you... :-)
