change of status b2 to f1 pending

I have applied for change of status from b2 to f1.My I94 has already been expried and I am living since I can stay here cause my case is pending.It has been three months since i hered from USCIS.Can anybody tell me how long i can stay in USA.I still havent recived any letter from uscis.I was told that i can stay for 180 days after your I94 expries.Soon my 180 days will also be over.Will this effect next time i come to USA.I am tried of waiting ..but keeping hope that result will be positive.plz help...would like to know the rules and how will it effect future trips.

If the result is negative, you would have accumulated illegal stay since I 94 expiration date. If overstay is long enough you'll be subject to a 3/10 years ban to enter the US.
