Chennai-F1 --Delay

Are there any delays in issuance of F1 visas...

I am getting my visa stamped ...its a change from H1 to F1 and i am mid way thru my courses..


I dont want to miss this semester.due to delays.....


CAN anyone PLease shed some light....

There are no consulate wide delays at any consulates. If your case requires additional processing (name checks, TAL etc.) it could take longer for you.

The reason i asked was..2 years back there were rumors of some major delays..due to some new process that the consulate has initiated. so i was wondering if that was still the case.
