In the DS-157 there is the following question:
"Do you have any specialized skills or training, including firearms, explosives, nuclear, biological, or chemical experience?"
Does anyone know if basic/standard military service for about a year would be considered as "specialized skills", or is this question meant for those who have way more training than that (For example 17 years in the French Foreign Legion or those who happens to be experts at explosives and blow up buildings for a living)?
Since a "yes" to this question probably makes the embassy staff look deeper into the application (and therefore makes it more time consuming) I would rather check the "no"-box. However, if they consider military service to qualify for a "yes" I wouldn't want to provide them with a wrong answer either.
Anyone who has been in this or a similar situation?
