Please read below to understand my situation.
I applied for COS H1 to F1(for fall semister) in July 2009 and got approval in Oct 23rd 2009.Due to some misunderstanding i enrolled for spring semister in November instead of Fall semister since my approval for fall semister came very late.
I paid the fees for spring semister and when i asked the college to send dependent I20 for my wife, they told me that my student status in SEVIS is "cancelled" as i dint enroll for fall and they informed me that they kept request in SEVIS to change it back to "Initial", and unless i get approval from SEVIS they cannot issue dependent I20 for my wife.
It's been almost 3months that they applied for change of status in SEVIS.But i dint hear anything from college, everytime i contact them they say it's still pending. Regardless of the status in SEVIS, i paid fees for Spring semister and attending classes.
Can anyone please answer my questions.
1.Can i actually enroll to Spring sem though i got F1 approval with fall semister I20?
2.How long will it take for SEVIS to Change status from cancelled to Initial?
3.Can i rely on wht the college folks is telling? ofcourse i dont have an option but i want to know how it actually works instead of completely depending on college.
Can anyone please advice me on this, since i am not getting satisfactory answers from college folks?any info on this is appreciated since i am not at all aware of the way SEVIS works.
