My friend is in bit of a tricky situation and needs help. He got a CPT, which was valid from June, 2017 to May, 2018. This was a temporary employment(20 hours a week). Now the thing is, he didn't notice these dates on his I-20 and he continued working until feb, 2019. At this moment, he has got another job and wants to get a new CPT. Just before going to his university, he has realized this mistake.
What are the implications now? Should he tell the university, he has worked for 9 more months then what he was approved for? Or, it is better for him not to tell university of this extra time he worked? Would USCIS now about this? He has paid taxes as well, are there any problems of anyone finding about this in future. without him telling anyone?
Thanks
