H4 to F1 visa stamping

Hi all,

I converted from H4 to F1 on 2016 through COS with USCIS and did not travel to India for stamping. Currently on STEM OPT with valid EAD card and planning to travel to India. I just have an expired h4 visa on passport. Is it safe to travel now? What documents do i need to carry?

I'm in the same boat as you (converted from H4 to F1 in 2016 through COS and did not travel to India for stamping). However, in my case, I don't have my STEM OPT approved yet and I'm waiting for its approval. Once I get my approval, I don't know if I should go to the embassy to get my visa stamp in my passport or just drop my documents.
