Hi,
I stayed in US for 5 yrs (2yr F1 & 3 yr H1) and came back last yr to do my MBA. Though I came back, I maintained my bank account in US and also an NRI account.
Now I will be going back to US again for this fall semester on a student exchange program. I have got tuition fee waiver but need to show $4000 for personal expense.
Now I was wondering how to show financial support? All my money is either in US account or is in NRI account. The bank statement that I got for NRI account lists my US address as my current address. And I am not sure if I can show support using my US bank account statements (these will be merely printouts of my online bank statements).I maintained my US bank account for tax purposes and I also have a credit card linked to the bank account.
My questions are as follows:
1) Can I show US bank account or NRI account as proof of financial support?
2) Should I instead get a affidavit of support from my parents and show their bank account details?
