Hi!
I have just completed my bachelors and got admission to masters in the same university in USA. My current visa expires soon so I have decided to go outside US to a 3rd country where I grew up to renew or get a new visa. But I got rejected saying that I dont have strong ties to my home country. I had all the documents of my parents establishments and property with me but the counsellor didnt want to see it. My question is can I still return to US with the current visa (before it expires) or am I not able to go back? Will appreciate any kind of help. I am really stressed.
The thing is my visa expires on Aug 15,2010 and I am planning to return on Aug 10,2010. I have a new I-20, for masters which runs until Aug 2013. I am just curious if I will be stopped and deported back from the airport because I got rejected for a new visa? I couldnt believe why this happend to me as I didnt apply for OPT and applied straight to masters and also been offered a graduate assistantship position. My only negative side was that my sibling is a US citizen who has been living in the US from last 16 years. The officer kept asking about my sibling and never asked me what my plan is after graduation. I am so stressed. Feels like the world has ended for me.
