My F1 visa got terminated on feb 2020 due to not being able to enroll full time. It happened because I was involved in a car accident that took over the funds I had to pay for that semesters tuition. It’s been six months exactly since termination and I plan on seeking reinstatement now. Would it be better if I apply for reinstatement or just wait till I file for my AOS(I’m married to a USC)? I really want to keep going to school but they won’t let me until I regain lawful status.

Usually, you can only get reinstatement if you have been out of status for less than 5 months. So I don't think you would be eligible for reinstatement. And even if you were eligible, you might be denied for immigrant intent since you intend to file AOS.
This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.
