I'm at a loss as to what to answer for my present occupation in the DS-160. I graduated last year and since then, I have been working, in an informal capacity, on a research project under a professor at the University of Hyderabad. Since it is informal, there is no formal contract of employment, although I can get a letter from my supervisor accounting for my activities over the last year, and definitely no pay.
Now, bearing the above in mind, the following are my questions:
1. What do I say for my present occupation ? Do I say NOT EMPLOYED (I need some help regarding the Explain section to this question) or do I put in RESEARCH, COMPUTER SCIENCE or OTHER ?
2. If I do NOT put in NOT EMPLOYED, then do I need to submit a letter from my supervisor attesting to my work under him ?
