Please Help 221(g)

My cousin went to Kolkata consulate for his student visa interview for his Bachelor's degree.He is 17 years,the consulate officer said
"i will grant the Visa, i need some information". He given 221(G) blue form which says "Administrative Processing", the officer said i will contact you in two weeks if i need any more inforation.


Does age is matter for visa?
Shall we expect student visa for him or not?
I need advise for my cousin, please help me ...please....

It may be a name check or the person may be opting for a technology alert list program. This check will take anywhere from 1 week to 2-3 months. But from the statement 'I will grant the visa', it seems very likely that he/she will get the visa.
