  • F1 Student Visa Denied Twice

    All,

Any input will be highly appreciated.

I applied for F1 student visa on June 23. The counselor denied my Visa for unknown reason.

Then I applied on July 19. Counselor asked me which all universities did you apply. I said Lamar, U of Houston, and Houston Clear Lake. They asked my why all in Houston region, do you have any family member there. I said my sister is in Houston. And again denied visa.

It feels like Honesty is NOT the best policy in this case. Just because my sis is in US, does that mean I can't do my MS there?

Can I apply for F1 visa again to make it to Fall 2010 session? What are other options?

    Thanks for your help.

You have to be really interested in studying in order to get the visa. Since all your schools are in Houston area and at least some of them are third rate schools, it very evident (for the VO) that all you want to do is go to any damn school as long as it is near your sister's place.
Apply to some good schools (anywhere in the US), get admitted and try again.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
