Hi, I am an Indian at present working in UK, my wife is a permanent resident (green card holder) in USA, she is working there from past 2 years, it takes another 3 years for her to become a citizen there in order to sponsor me on a spouse visa... just 2 months back she filed an I 130 Petition to uscis.

At present am looking for a graduate programme in Texas, I am meeting all the requirement of the university, but is it possible for me to apply for a student F1 visa, as I130 is already filed.... What is the best solution.... is there any other visa which i can apply for

It is possible but very difficult to get it as you have already proved your immigrant intent by your wife filing I-130 for you.

What if we cancel the I 130 petition and then apply for the student visa

It still does not change the fact that you showed immigrant intent at one point.
