F1 renewal and F2

Hi

I finished my masters on F1 and then 1 yr of OPT and now got into Ph.D program in basic sciences with funding. Now I am planning to get married at the end of this year. As my F1 visa expired I need to renew it when I go to India and I want to bring my wife on F2. My questions are:

1. Is it ok to go for visa interview together? me for visa renewal and my wife for F2?
2. Is there any problem as I completely used my OPT period and then went for Ph.D?
3. Anyone of u guys ever had this similar situation of applying for F2 and F1 renewal? Whats the result for your visa interview? Any specific questions that I need to prepare for?
4. I would really appreciate if anyone can provide detailed procedure of how you applied for F2?

You should go to the interview together.
You can get OPT again for a higher degree level.
You will need to get a dependent I-20 from the university first. (You can get it before your wedding). Then follow the steps of filing 160, paying HDFC fees etc. similar to your own visa application. Schedule interview for you and in the process you will see options for adding your spouse to the same interview appointment.
