F2 visa - 221G , F1 Visa Approved

Hi All,

My wife applied to XX university and got her I20. We got 2 kids (One US citizen and one Indian). We applied for Visa together (Wife F1 and Me and Kid F2). Wife's F1 and Kids F2 got approved immediately and mine still showing Administrative Processing.

Timeline

Visa Interview : 26th July
Spouse Visa Issued : 28th - Issues and collected passports the next day.
My status : Administrative Processing. Last update was on 27th July.

What is the rationale in approving the F1 visa and Kids Visas and holding mine. When checking my passport status: There is no status update available for the passport number submitted. USTRAVELDOCS profile showing Document Delivery Information: blank. I was on H1B before and wife on H4 and stayed in USA for 5 years before coming to India in Nov 2020.

Anyone faced this similar kind of experience. F1 is in USA now and commenced her classes.

Hi,
It may happen. If you see your status as Administrative processing, nothing to get worry. May be officers needs back ground/ security verification. Once it is done, final update will be posted. One of my circle had same scenario. after couple of weeks, status got as visa issued.
So, just wait for some time to hear the good news.

It will be 3 weeks today. I still don't see any update on CEAC website, not even the last updated date change. Hopefully this week.

Finally. Got approval today after sending couple of email from the travel docs profile. They checked with me about my case and finally issued.
