Transfering to another university

Hello,

I came to US on H4 visa and then transfered to F1 STATUS. I completed my Associates degree then worked on my OPT for a year and now transfering to another university. My question is do i have to again apply for f1 status extension?? I have recieved my i-20 from my new university. I am a lil confused please let me know if F1 STATUS need to be extended ?

If you formally complete a SEVIS transfer (your new school DSO can explain), you do not need to do anything else. Your I-94 must state D/S, meaning duration of status. So you are legal as long as you maintain full time student status with an active SEVIS record.
