URGENT!! Surname is written on I20 even though my passport dont have one.

In my passport, the credentials are
Given name: Suraj Singh
Last name: <blank>

So according to the ustraveldocs FAQs, I have filled up my US consulate profile and DS160 as:
Given name: FNU
Last name: Suraj Singh

However, in my i20 the university has mentioned my name as:
Given name: Suraj
Last name: Singh

I have reached to the university to change the name, but they said its fine and should be accepted by the embassy. Can anybody please confirm if should i not bother them again or should i have to get it changed anyhow? My visa interview is within a week.
