On B1 - need to re-enter on F1 (already stamped on passport)

Hi, I already have F1 stamped on passport and came to US on B1 a few months ago for vacations. What are my options to just re-enter the country on F1? Can I just go to border patrol, and walk back in? looking for financially feasible options.

Walking/driving across the border and getting back in is definitely an option. (I heard it's pretty nice at Niagara Falls. ) I don't know if a change of status (COS) is an option in your case (there are probably quite a few variables to consider that I don't know enough about...); if it is, you can do it without leaving the country. However, a COS may take a while, while exiting and reentering is rather quick.
