B1 Visa to F1 Visa

Hi

I have a tourist visa valid for multiple entry for 10 Years .this is my second visit .During the course of my visit i developed interest to study here .I plan to join the Kaplan course to appear for the USMILE exams .Kaplan offers I20 for international students .please advice on whether i need to go back to India to get my F1 stamping done or could i change my status here .If i can get it done here what will be the process and what will happen to my tourist visa of 10 years

I think I already answered this post somewhere else. I was in a similar situation and came back to my country to apply for a student visa here. It was rejected and my tourist visa was cancelled.
Advice... Don't go back to your country!
