Internship extension summer to fall

I had my internship offer extended at the same company from summer to fall.

Summer internship ends August 18th, fall internship starts August 28th.

There is a gap of 5 days - my company told me they will not officially give me a release on 18th. But I will not work during this time and they will not pay me anything for these 5 days https://9apps.ooo/ .

So will this work ? In terms of compliance to USCIS ? Do I need to bother what the company does at their end as long as I am not working when I am not permitted to?
