Canadian looking to apply for China visa (HK related)

Hi all, I’m a Canadian who has HK nationality with expired return to home permit. I’m travelling to HK in a few months but will like to also travel to China. Ideally, I would use the return to home permit but mine is expired and likely won’t have time to obtain one in HK. Would you know if I am able to instead apply a China visa in Canada and use https://19216811.cam/ that to enter China? The visa forms ask if I have other nationality and I will put down Hong Kong but not sure if the Visa office will flag it and deny my visa and ask me to get the return to home permit instead while I’m in Hong Kong. I appreciate any insight on this at all. Thank you.
