Hi there
I was in the US from 1999 - 2004 on a F1 visa, completed my undergraduate degree and worked for a year 03-04 on OPT and then returned back to India. Now, I am pursuing my MBA from an American university in Delhi, based in Phoenix. I wish to transfer to its Phoenix branch. Now, as far as the transfer is concerned, the University manages the paperwork. I am told that they will provide me the I-20.
Now, my question is regarding one of the requirments by the US consulate for issuing F1 visa - evidence of sufficient funds.
If I take out a bank loan for the duration of my study and the bank gives me a certification letter, is that letter sufficient enough for the Consulate? Do I have to show other assets or bank statements from parents/relatives?
Also, is there a backlog of student visas at the US embassy in Delhi? Anyone or anybody going through the same phase as I am??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
