Travel OPT pending I-797C lost in mail
Hi guys, I am a little worried.
I must leave the country for family reasons, I just graduated and I have my OPT pending. The problem is that the I-797C, the initial receipt it is lost in the mail (I waited for 40 days till now
).
I have an email and sms from uscis with the receipt number EAC...so I could print that in case and show that to the immigration at the border when I am back. I also have a job offer in hand and signed I20.
Reading on the university sites, most of them states you need the I797C for reentry but in the official Uscis page they are more generic just stating that you can reenter while the OPT is pending.
Do you think I could have problems to reenter in the US? i can barely sleep thinking about the possible job lost...
