F1 visa- yes or no?

This is for my wife.

I was on a J1 visa in the US and my wife was with me on a J2.

She then converted to F1 status while in the US, and is now pursuing her PhD with full scholarship at a reputed university.

I finished my J1 term and have come back to India and am working in India now.

My wife plans to visit me, but has to apply for a F1 visa to get back after her visit.

Is there a risk that she may be denied an F1 visa because she had a status change?

But could you please tell me what the chances are like? Is it really risky? Or is it that she will most probably get her visa?
