Hello,
Yesterday I had my student visa interview and I was denied under 214(b) that means on the basis that I do not have social and economic ties, but I think I was not given fair chance to show my ties. My argument for these ties
1. Social Ties? My all family members are in my native country living with me right now and no one near lives in USA not even in any other country. What more social ties could it be there if my whole family is with me in my country?
2. Economic ties? My family business is up and running for more than 30 years and it is not a small business that is conducted by my brother and we are making 5-6 Million / annum (Local Country Currency) I know it might now sound lot but it is for local currency. So, who would leave such business and intend to immigrate to US for earning only around 1 million/annum in USA?
Aren't these suffecient ties?
My Profile:
Education: Intermediate (That is high school of USA)
Currently: Working as a junior level manager in my own family business with my brother. I started doing it because he couldn't tolerate the pressure and I had to help him with him.
TOEFL: 97
Intended Course: BBA
Now, my exact interview went like this
Me: Hi mam How are you doing?
VO: So how long have you been working and for whome?
Me: I have been working for 3 years along with my brother who runs our family business of construction materials.
VO: what is your highest degree?
Me: Intermediate (She didn't look at my transcripts though I have good grades)
VO: what Year did you graduate from High School?
Me: 2007
VO: what made you continue your education now?
Me: We are looking to expand our business and being an intermediate I find myself limited in my skills and knowledge so I decided once I pursue my BBA I will have better skills and knowledge to look after it with my brother
VO: (Again with a twisted question I believe) What were you doing from 2007 to 2009?
Me: Mam in 2007 I completed my intermediate then I have been working since 2008 till now.
VO: (Signs the letter and says) Sorry you are not eligible to travel to USA right now.
Me: Thank You Mam.
Where did I blow it? Trust me or not I want to study and come back...but what to do now? Should I re-apply? they say student should re-apply only when a significant change occurs, but there is no change it is just that I think I wasn't given a fair chance to show my ties. Should I reapply and if they ask what changed? I should say I don't think I was given a fair chance to demonstrate my ties and then explain the ties?
I am really disappointed..please let me know..
thanks..
