H1B to F1

My H1b expires next month and I am considering going back to school. Is it possible to adjust my status from H1B to F1? Do I have enough time to process to adjustment? My visa expires September 30th.

You must file for change of status before your I-94 expires and before your last day at work. You will need to first obtain admission to a SEVP approved school in a degree program. You are allowed to study while your change of status remains pending. Beware of getting into non-accredited schools that offer CPT from day one since many of them are under ICE scanner and may invite trouble later.
It seems too late for getting admission into Fall semester at good schools, if you really want to study you can try to get admitted to Spring semester, leave the US and return with an F1 Visa.
