H4 to F1 conversion URGENT!!!!

I'm on H4 since 2 years and I started MS on H4 but now I want to change my Visa status to F1 after my India trip, also due to some visa issues I might have to take a break for a couple of semesters (this means I have to stay in India). Can I change my status to F1 after I come back to US. This means after a break can I apply for F1... and get it approved.

Yes, you can change status later. Keep in touch with school officials so that they don't cancel your admission. Before returning all you have to do is obtain an F1 Visa from an embassy/consulate and return with a fresh I-20. Alternative is to return in H4 status and then apply for change of status.
