My 17 month OPT extension expires in 2 weeks

Hello,

My 17 month extended OPT will expire on Dec 2, 2012. I exactly have 2 weeks leftover. Right now I don't have any job. If I find a project in next week, my employer is ready to file H1b for me. Assuming that i got into the project in next 4 days and my employer files H1b for me, In this case my question is will I be eligible to work in US after Dec 2, 2012 if my H1b is under processing(In the grace period of 60 days).

Can somebody please tell me the alternatives and possibilities for this issue.

Unfortunately, it is highly likely that receipt date will be later than Dec 2, 2011. So there is no extension for you. You are not allowed to work but you can stay in the US and H1 can be approved as change of status.
