applying for H1 when f1 visa is still active - very urgent

hi... I have an admit from a university and the F1 stamping was done in October (visa valid for 5 years)... I am working for an IT company in India and I have got a good offer from my manager . The manager promises an on-site opportunity in the near future.

Now, if I choose to defer my admission to fall 2012 just to take up the on-site opportunity and my company tries to initiate a H1B visa in 3 months from now, should it be a problem (my F1 would still remain active as I would be deferring my admit)? Is it possible to have 2 visas at a time?

If I am denied H1B visa, will the consulate cancel my F1 as well?

You have nothing to do with your defereing the college. As you are a foreign national. Your school just looks if you have a valid US- Visa and If you are allowed to study in that particular Visa. If your H1 is denied, your F-1 will still remain active. Only once your H1 is approved you will no longer have the F-1 status

This is just my understanding.
