I am planning to apply for an F1 visa to commence study in mid May. I would like to travel to the States more than 30 days before I start studying. Am I able to enter on a B1 visa before my F1 visa kicks in 30 days before I start studying. And if so what will I have to do to change to the F1 visa. I will already have the F1 visa approved before entering the country.
