Doubts about travelling with F1 status

I'm doing Ph.D in Mississippi. I'm chnaging my college now. I'm moving to Virginia. I want to travel to India in Dec for personal reasons. My passport is having the current univ's name. Is it ok to go to India with the visa having the old univ name in it? Would there be any problem in the port of entry for me when i come back?

I would really appreciate the earliest possible reply.

It shud not be a problem. Just like American students, even foriegn students are allowed to transfer schools. As long as your visa and I 20 are both valid, you should be ok...!

Also, make sure your new school issues you a "transfer" I 20.

You can even make sure by checking on your I 94 card, if it has D/S writtern on it then you should be perfectly safe to change schools and travel.
