internship for COS form L2 to F1

Hello everyone!!

I started studying on L2 (dependent on L1 spouse) from Sept 2011, but in Oct 2011 my husband's employer filed for his H1 visa so I applied for F1 visa and received its approval by Dec 2011.

Now I am studying on F1 for my spring semester. Is it true that I will not be able to work off-campus or do an internship in May 2012 since I have not studied on F1 for at least 2 semesters?

I have maintained my full time student status for both the semesters, shouldn't I be eligible for off-campus jobs or internship?

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Your school's DSO or ISO is the best person to answer this question as they will be the ones that sign and endorse your I20 for any such authorization.
