change for Visa Interview of F1 to H4

I got my I-20 and planned to attend the Visa Interview on 31st May, 2012. I have all the documents ready including Visa Appointment Letter, DS-160 form, etc.. In all the documents I mentioned my visa status as F1.

Very recently my marriage got fixed and my fiance is on H1B visa. We are getting married on June 13th, 2012.

I wanted to know if it is possible for me to cancel the current Visa Interview scheduled on 31st May and attend the visa interview after my marriage for H4 Visa?

Is it acceptable to do so? Will I face any problem?

It is possible. Call up VFS to inquire if they will allow you to use the same application fee or not.

Remember if you travel to US in H4 status, you will be allowed to study but you will not get F1 benefits like on-campus work authorization and OPT. You may however qualify for in-state tuition fees on H4 status which are half of out-of-state tuition. This depends on the state and school you are studying at.
