Hello,
I'm 22yrs old and from India and mine is a strange case.
In 2008 I went to a University in Alabama on F1 Visa to study Physics. That Visa is set to expire in 2013. After a year of studying there I had to come back to India because I wanted to take a year off and analyze if I was going in the right direction. It took two years to realize what I really wanted to do. I wanted to study Neuroscience at a liberal arts college in the US. So I took another year to apply to one and now I got into one. I'm about to receive the I-20. The college I'm going to is expensive but I have documents to show I can afford it.
From what I know from my previous experience, I just need to be honest and brief and to-the-point in my answers and rest will take care of itself.
But since mine is a strange case where I'm going to study UNDERGRADUATE course that too one that is as obscure as NEUROSCIENCE and I'm going in as a TRANSFER STUDENT.
I want to know how I should present my case to the VISA officer.
1) How good are my chances of getting a F1 VISA?
2) Is having a F1 VISA already an advantage or a disadvantage?
3) Would the officer accept my reasons as being genuine?
4) On what possible grounds could I get rejected? What should I look out for?
Thanks.
