Social Security and Medicare Exemption

I am currently working on OPT STEM extension. I enrolled in an undergraduate degree in 2006 and have been on F-1 visa since then. I have completed over 5 years on F-1 Visa. After graduation I worked on Initial OPT and continued on the 17 month extension.

Can I qualify for exemption from Social Security and Medicare taxes now? I read somewhere that the exemption is only allowed for first five years of F-1 visa. I have recently switched jobs and want to know if I can claim tax exemption from my new employer?
