Advice for Dependent Visa

Hello Everyone
I need some advice on my situation, I am getting married on 7th of Dec 2012 and planning to bring my wife along with me. I am on F1 status/ post completion OPT which expires in July 2013 and I just got a FT and my company will be filing my H1 in April 2013.
What would be the best way to bring my would-be wife to USA in December after marriage?

She can try and apply for F2 Visa and travel immediately. If that does not work out she will have to wait until the H1 petition gets approved and then apply for H4 Visa. (With H4 she can only travel on or after Oct 1, 2013)

What happens to her status when I go into the cap gap period since I will be out of status from mid july till oct 1st, 2013?

And what do u think is the probability of getting an F2 visa keeping in mind that my F1 going to expire in 6 months and I will fall into the cap gap period?

cap-gap is part of OPT and hence F1, her status will remain F2. She may however have problems obtaining driver license etc. as her F2 I-20 will not have the appropriate end date.

There is always a risk in any F Visa application because of immigrant intent. Risk is higher when the principal F1 has completed studies and is doing OPT. But some people have managed to get it in these circumstances.

I have same situation now. Getting marry in January 2015 and opt is expiring in May 2015. I want to know what happened with you after that ?(hope that it worked out).

Also, did you take visa appointment for your wife before marriage ? I am planning to do that and I have questions in DS 160 form. give me your email id so we can chat better.
