TD/TN Dependent visa, while being on Maternity leave & employed with a Canadian Co?

Hi,

I am currently on Maternity leave, employed with a Canadian firm. I receive my maternity paycheck in my Canadian bank account. My spouse moved to the US on a TN visa, and I decided to join him on a B2 visitor visa, which expires in May. Should I change my status to TD or apply for a B2 extension?

Does a TD visa prohibit me from being on any sort of employment outside of the US, even if I am not actually working and I am currently on maternity leave? Also, my maternity paycheck remains in my Canadian account, and is not brought into the US, does this have any impact?

You can't work while in the US in B2 or TD status. Since you are not performing work while in the US, you are fine now.
