  • TN visa married to a Green Card holder

    Hi there,

I'm married to a green card holder and I am on TN visa. We have not filed for adjustment of status for me. My intent is to stay on TN visa and not file for green card. 1.) can I travel for honeymoon outside of US while being on TN visa and being married to a green card holder? Will this cause any issue while re entry to the US? 2.) my tn expires in 2026 and can I apply for another TN extension without any issues? https://9apps.ooo/ While being married to green card holder?

    Thank you!

Hello! Since you're on TN visa, I am assuming you're either Canadian or Mexican. Anyway, you can travel on your TN visa while married to a green card holder (e.g. honeymoon), but there are some key considerations. Since the TN visa requires nonimmigrant intent, being married to a green card holder could raise questions during re-entry about whether you intend to stay in the U.S. permanently. To avoid issues, be prepared to show strong ties to your home country, such as proof of residence, financial assets, or family ties, and have a clear explanation of your intent to return home after your authorized stay.

Regarding TN extensions, your marriage doesn’t bar you from applying, and you can extend your status as long as you meet TN visa requirements and maintain nonimmigrant intent. Just ensure consistency in your intentions, keep all your documentation in order, and consult an immigration attorney if needed. 😊 Hope this helps! I found this using skiplegal.ai been using this website for all my immigration queries. Please note I am not a legal advisor.
