Hello,
Here is the background: I left the US not realizing my travel documents were expired in Nov 2011. I came to Canada to introduce my infant son to my family. When I was denied entry at Pearson, in a panic I gathered my documents to apply for a TN visa. The officers were actually very understanding, told me they could not allow me to enter while my GC was still pending but that it was one of the best TN apps they'd seen and if the GC app had been withdraen they would have approved it. So I wrote a letter to withdraw my application and found a job, opened accounts, including and RRSP account. I live with family, I don't pay rent or own property. USCIS has withdrawn my GC application and I am anxious to return to the US. Based in what I was told last time and by my lawyer I should have no problems getting in but I am extremely worried about applying again. My son has not seen his father sinceChristmas and I am trying to cover all bases. What documents will I need to establish I have ties to Canada? Does it really depend on the mood of the officer? If I am denied the TN, are there any repercussions? When could I apply again? Thanks in advance.
