Need to stay at london for 1-2 days while going back to India

I have valid H1 b visa till 31 may 2013. I am going back to India on 25 may. I will be booking british airways ticket (SFO-London-Delhi).

Can you pls guide me if i need to have transit visa to go to london for 2 days? If yes, what is the process to get that visa now?

You need a visit visa, not a transit visa, since you want to enter the UK for a couple of days. Check the website of the British embassy in Washington.

Can somebody please tell me the process to get UK visit visa from San Francisco? Also, is it possible if i could get this visa in another 10 days?
