I am in a very unique situation and hope someone can help me with suggestions. I am travelling to India on Advance Parole.
I am flying along with my family via Air France from New York to Mumbai on 23rd June. While on way I am stopping over in Europe (Schengen countries) with more stay in Switzerland. I am returning back on July 22nd and my wife is returning back on Aug 26th.
As per schengen rules, I applied for Schengen visa at Swiss consulate. I got Schengen visa but the duration of visa is only from June 20th to July 20th with single Entry. The visa is OK for my outbound travel to India and stopver in Europe. but while returning back would I need Tranist Visa. If yes where and how to obtain it. French consulate informed me they cannot issue Tranist visa since I already have valid Schengen visa. Also there are not dates available at French Consulate to apply for it. Will I be allow to board the flight from New York.
Can I apply for Transit visa at French consulate in Mumbai. I am really stuck and have no idea as to what should be done.
Any suggestions from you guys would be highly appreciated.
