Transit visa renewing to tourist visa
I have a non-immigrant 5year transit visa c-1 multiple entries. Its been just a year since I got my visa. the expiration date in on year 2020. I am planning to renew it next year onto tourist visa so I can go shopping and visit my friend there and get back in Haiti after a week. Because as far as I understand the use of transit visit I cannot use it by just visiting USA from Haiti for a couple of days and get back in Haiti. My question is.. Can I renew my C1 visa to B1/B2 visa even if its still valid?
