Transit for Australian Citizen

Hi,

I am Australian and have received mixed information about whether or not I need a DS 156 visa. I have a working visa for Canada and have a stop over to change planes in LA. The way i see it since i am just changing planes and have no intention of re- entering the USA I should not need a visa as I am covered by the 90 day visa waiver, but my friends think otherwise. I will be in canada for over 90 days but my flight out of Canada is direct for the UK so i will not be going to the US.

If you are citizen of Australia, you will NOT require transit visa as you are eligible for visa waiver program (VWP).
