H1B visa expired on passport - Can I travel via Istanbul, Turkey?

Hi All,

I am travelling to India next month - after a period 6 years - My visa on Passport has expired - I have approved I-797 till 2024. I am travelling with Turkish Airlines - 1 stop flight - from LAX => Istanbul( 2 hours layover) => Mumbai
My questions:
1. Is it advisable to travel via Istanbul - will there be any visa issues
2 Do I need transit visa ?
3. Has any one travelled recently?
Any Suggestions / Experience / Advice

From my understanding, if you have a layover in Istanbul and you're not planning to leave the airport during your transit, you generally won't need a transit visa. However, it's always a good idea to double-check with the Turkish embassy or consulate to confirm the current requirements.
