Does anyone know how long a visa takes to come through when you have a criminal record. When I visited the embassy for a visa before I just left my passport and then it was returned in a couple of weeks. I was unaware of the changes to the process and went in July and was told this had to be sent off to be agreed, although they recommend a longer visa for me. We had to cancel our holiday in September and my parents, who are taking all the family rebooked for 16/12. We have two young children who are so excited and it looks like I won't be going, as I am still waiting for my visa.
I made silly mistake 20 years ago and having to relive it again is really upsetting me. My parents will lose all the money if they have to cancel again, so it looks like my children are going with them and my husband on their own and I am spending xmas on my own.
Can anyone please, please advise me.
