I am a citizen of the Netherlands and I am part of the administrators of an online blog, and except for me, all of the contributors to this blog are citizens of the USA.
This blog is not a registered (press) organization or anything and is just something we do for fun next to our jobs (my actual paid job is mobile app development at a Dutch company)
Now in July 2015 most of the blog contributors will be heading to Comic-Con 2015 (a comic-book fan convention) and they will be reporting some stuff there for the blog. This is all unpaid and not part of their jobs.
Recently they have asked me to come over to the USA for a short vacation. During this vacation I will also be attending Comic-Con and maybe help them out with writing some pieces about the con for the blog.
What kind of Visa would I require for a trip to the USA like this? The vacation part of the trip would be eligible for the Tourist Visa Waiver program, but I'm not sure about the convention and the reporting for the blog.
Me attending the convention is just me being a fan of comics and not related to my job or any business, so I guess it would fall under the Tourist Visa Waiver program?
Also about reporting about the convention to the blog: I guess since it's only a "mostly-USA based hobby blog" and not an actual full-fledged press organization it wouldn't require a media visa? I'm not sure.
